Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 8:25 p.m. Mar. 9 on the 200 blk of Highway 69.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Jesse Lee Heilman, 38, of Weldon, driving a 2015 Chrysler was looking down to get a Girl Scout cookie and lost control of the vehicle, corssed the opposing lane of traffic and entered the northbound ditch. When Deputies arrived on scene alcohol could be smelled, Heilman was transported to Clarke County Law Center for testing and was arrested for OWI.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Heilman’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 2 p.m. Mar. 16 on Colfax Street Murray.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Kayla Nicole Coupe, 27, of Murray, driving a 2000 Pontiac lost control of the vehicle and collided with a fence, tree and side of a porch at 1030 Colfax St. Murray. Coupe was given a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and a Prliminary Breathe Test before being arrsted for OWI and driving while suspended.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Ryan Easter’s front porch and $10,000 to Coupe’s vehicle.

No citations were issed after an accident 2:33 p.m. Mar. 16 at the Interstate 35 Casey’s parking lot.

According to an Osceola Police report, Lindsy Jane Van Scoy, 25, of Winterset, driving a 2001 Dodge truck was pulling up to a gas pump and had to back up in an attempt to get the vehicle closer to the pump and while backing up Van Scoy struck Bongsoon Moreland, 61, of Afton, driving a 2015 Subaru into the parking lot.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to Moreland’s vehicle and $1,000 to Van Scoy’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 7:09 a.m. Mar. 18 at Pilot Truck Stop parking lot.

According to an Osceola Police report, Cody Thomas Carson, 21, of Kansas, driving a 2018 Ford truck with attached trailer was pulling out of a parking space and turned to early, causing the cargo on the trailer to scrape the legally parked unoccupied 2019 International semi truck and trailer in the neighboring parking space.

Estimated damage was $750 to the 2019 International semi and $2,000 to Carson’s cargo.

No citations were issued after an accident 2:19 p.m. Sunday on E. Eddy Saylor Parkway.

According to an Osceola Police report, Ryan Douglas Allsup, 43, of Vinton, driving a 2009 Ford truck was stopped at the intersection on E. Eddy Saylor Parkway and after looking for oncoming traffic made to continue throught the intersection when he struck Jaime Misael Garcia Parra, 34, of Osceola, driving a 2003 Mitsubishi ahead of Allsup who had not continued through the intersection yet.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to Garcia Parra’s vehicle and $50 to Allsup’s vehicle.
