Feldman joins Medicap family

Anne Feldman, the new full-time pharmacist at Medicap Pharmacy, 214 S. Main St., is a Chicagoan transplant with a taste for small-town living.

“Osceola was the perfect opportunity for me,” said Feldman. “People were very friendly, everyone knows each other and is able to talk to one another. It’s more than just a business relationship.”

Feldman moved from a big city suburb to Drake University, where she ultimately completed her Doctor of Pharmacy. As the pharmacy manager, she’ll be available to answer questions on prescriptions, and she’ll have the ability to provide quick and convenient access to immunizations. Feldman is bringing some new services to town with her as well.

First on the list? Dr. Comfort shoe fittings help patients with foot and balance problems find a comfortable shoe with the support — and style — that’s needed. Therapeutic shoes have come a long way from the white clunky sneakers of the 70s and 80s. Today, even sandals are available.

“I already have some background training in this, but I want to do more in regards to what kinds of feet problems people have and then also being able to fit people for shoes that have comfort inserts. Medicare will even pay for that for them, which is really nice.”
