May 4 accident reports

No citations were issued following a hit and run on April 30 along North Fillmore Street.

According to an Osceola police report, the driver of a legally parked 2013 Ford Fusion noticed a dent in the driver side rear fender above the rear wheel. Police checked the are for cameras, but were unable to find any to assist in identifying the other vehicle.

Damage is estimated at $2,500 to the 2013 Ford.

No citations were issued following an accident in the 100 block of North Main/Highway 69 on April 29.

According to an Osceola police report, Nicholas Palmer, Leon, was traveling northbound in a 1997 Honda Civic as Connie Van Haaften-Strange, New Virginia, was backing out of a parking spot in a 2022 GMC Terrain. Van Haaften-Strange struck the right rear fender of Palmer’s vehicle, causing damage to that area and the rear bumper of the GMC.

Neither driver reported injuries.

Damage is estimated at $2,000 to the 1997 Honda and $4,000 to the 2022 GMC.

According to an Osceola police report, Joanne Jones, Murray, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and ran into the back of a 2016 GMC Glaval Titan, which was parked at the time.

Damage is estimated at $1,800 to the 2008 Chevrolet and $500 to the 2016 GMC.

According to an Osceola police report, Michael Foxhoven of Newton was backing a 2013 Kenworth T300 in the Pilot Travel Center parking lot, 2010 West Clay Street. Foxhoven hit a support pole that he was unable to see due to it being in his blind spot.

Damage is estimated at $0 to the 2013 Kenworth and $1,400 to the support pole.

No citations were issued following an accident on April 26.

According to an Osceola police report, Peter Blidchenko of Chariton was getting ready to turn a 2017 Dodge Ram onto Furnas Drive from West McLane/Highway 34 when a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jaden Lynn of Murray ran into the back of him. Lynn told officers that she noticed the vehicle slowing down, then it stopped. Lynn had been slowing, but was unable to stop when Blidchenko did. A third vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu driven by CeJay Kent of Ossceola was unable to stop in time and ran into the back of Lynn’s vehicle.

Damage is estimated at $1,000 to the 2017 Dodge, $2,500 to the 2008 Chevrolet and $1,500 to the 2009 Chevrolet.
