March 9 accident reports

No citations were issued following an accident on March 2 in the 1200 block of Highway 69 north.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s Report, Dee-Jay Osborn of Knoxville was traveling north on Highway 69 in a 2016 Jeep Renegade when a deer entered the roadway. Osborn was unable to avoid the deer in a safe matter, and sustained damage to the front right of the vehicle.

Damage is estimated at $3,000.

No citations were issued following an accident on March 3 at the intersection of 320th Avenue and Clarke-Decatur Street.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s Report, Damon Stubbe, Woodburn, was traveling eastbound on Clarke-Decatur Street in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Stubbe realized that he was traveling too fast to make the stop at the intersection of Clarke-Decatur Street and 320th Avenue, and attempted to make the corner, which caused the vehicle to go sideways. The vehicle rolled, and landed back on its tires in the south ditch.

Damage is estimated at $3,000.

No citations were issued following an accident on March 5 at the 25 mile marker on Interstate 35 south.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s Report, Lesley Benton of Dixon, Illinois, was traveling south on Interstate 35 in a 2020 Nissan Kicks when a deer entered the roadway. Benton was unable to avoid the deer and sustained damage to the front left of the vehicle including driver side curtain airbag deployment.

Damage is estimated at $4,000.
