According to an Osceola police report, Gary Cook, Osceola, was traveling east on West McLane in the inside lane in a 2017 Buick Encore. As Cook approached the intersection of West McLane and Warren Ave, the stoplight turned red. Cook stopped, and in doing so was rear-ended by a 2001 Dodge driven by Christopher Music of Marion, North Carolina, that was pulling an enclosed trailer. Cook pulled his vehicle to the side of the road. EMS assessed Cook for neck and back pain; Cook declined going to the hospital.

Music told officers that he had been traveling east on West McLane when he observed Cook pass he and another vehicle and pulled over to the inside lane. Music also passed a vehicle and pulled back into the inside lane as the vehicle in front stopped on a green light. That was when Music rear-ended Cook.

Damage is estimated at $1500 to the 2017 Buick and $1500 to the 2001 Dodge. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene; the trailer had to be removed via another vehicle.
