Sept. 1 accident reports

No citations were issued following an accident at the corner of South Fillmore St. and W. McLane St. on Aug.25.

According to an Osceola police report, Daly Francisco of Osceola, driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4, was traveling eastbound on McLane Street; Stephanie Howard, Osceola, in a 2009 Ford Fusion was at the stop sign at South Fillmore St. Francisco told the responding officer that she noticed Howard begin to pull away from the stop sign and tried to stop before she made contact with Howard’s vehicle, but was unsuccessful. Howard told officers she thought Francisco’s right blinker was on, so she began to pull forward.

Damage is estimated at $2,000 to the 2019 Toyota and $1,500 to the 2009 Ford.

No citations were issued following an accident in the Walmart parking lot on Aug. 24.

According to an Osceola police report, the owner of a 2019 Dodge Ram was loading items into his truck when a 2010 Ford Fusion driven by Teresa Easley of Lacona began to back out of the spot next to him. Easley thought she had backed out far enough and made a sharp enough turn to avoid the truck, but struck the right rear bumper.

Damage is estimated at $1,500 to the 2019 Dodge and $3,500 to the 2010 Ford.

No citations were issued following an accident in the Osceola Farm and Home parking lot on Aug. 25.

According to an Osceola police report, Diana Brammer of Murray, driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, was backing out of a parking spot and did not see a 2009 Ford F150 driven by William Chumbley of Weldon. The rear of Brammer’s vehicle struck the right side of Chumbley’s.

Damage is estimated at $2,000 to the 2018 Chevrolet and $1,000 to the 2009 Ford.
