Doris Archer

Doris Leone Archer, daughter of Charley Leroy Neff and Mary Gertrude Harp Neff was born August 19, 1921, in Osceola, and passed from this life Monday, June 7, 2021 at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, at 99 years of age.

Doris graduated from Osceola High School in 1939. She worked as a nurse for Harkin Hospital following graduation. Doris was united in marriage to Willard Archer on August 26, 1942 in Boston, Mass., and two sons, Charles and Randy blessed this union.

Doris and Willard made their home in Ottumwa until moving to Nashua in 1949, they were realtors in Nashua, for many years. Doris gave ceramic lessons in her home, she was an avid quilter and enjoyed needle work. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Nashua. The coffee pot was always on and the door always open.

Those relatives who preceded Doris in death were her niece, Delaine J. Glasco, great-nephew, Gregory Alan Thornton, husband, Willard Archer, sister, Lois Osborn, mother, Mary Gertrude Neff, father, Charley Leroy Neff, infant sister, Edna Neff.

Doris is survived by her sons, Charles Archer of Reston, VA and Randy Archer of California; grandchildren, Cherie (Bill) Warren, of Manassas, VA., Dawn (Kevin) Radtke of Fort Lauderdale, FL., Matt (Lydia) Archer of Gaithersburg, MD., Scott Archer of Midlothian VA., Katey (Chad) Nichols of Midlothian, VA., Tyghe (Melanie) Vallard of Anoka, MN., and great-granddaughter, Lucy Vallard; niece, Deloris (Walt) Sutton of Osceola, IA, great-nieces, Kathy (Jim) Albrecht of Austin, TX, and Amy (Todd) Siefkas of Urbandale, IA as well as other relatives and many friends.
