The 11th annual Clarke County Fair Soup Supper Fundraiser is planned for this Saturday, March 25, at the Clarke County Events Center.
The soup supper serves as a way for the fair board to raise money for the 2023 Clarke County Fair. The proceeds from the supper and auction will go towards judge fees, awards for exhibitors, premium money for exhibitors, utilities and free entertainment. Clarke County is one of the few county fairs in Iowa that does not charge an admission fee.
A silent auction will include items donated from local businesses and individuals, as well as plaques and banners, which are given for the various animal varieties shown at the fair and the plaques fro Fair Queen, Princess, and Junior Prince and Princess. A live auction gives the chance for sponsorships of jackets, belt buckles, banners, “Day of the Fair” and other larger ticket items.
Last year’s supper and auction raised approximately $38,000.
The soup supper begins food service at 5 p.m. with doors opening at 4:30. The silent auction begins at 4:30 with the live auction beginning about 6:30.
The Clarke County Events Center is located at 2070 Highway 34.
