Timber Ridge is a satellite site for the Iowa Food Coop

The Iowa Food Coop is an online market for Iowa produced goods and Timber Ridge Country Market is a satellite site where people can pick up their Iowa Food Coop groceries.

With the Iowa Food Coop, anyone can order from their website to purchase fresh local products delivered to distribution sites, like Timber Ridge bi-weekly. The membership fee is $50 but is refundable should a member chose to leave. The Iowa Food Coop does accept EBT and waves membership fees for all EBT members.

Purchases can be made during an order cycle and once the cycle closes anything in a shoppers online cart will be counted by producers. While shopping there are options to chose the producer or location to ensure that products are as local as possible. This system also ensures no food waste. Producers send to distribution sites exactly the amount ordered by online shoppers.

This is a benefit to anyone looking to support a local business and local farmers. When picking up Iowa Food Coop groceries there are extra treats to buy from Timber Ridge. It’s pretty common to get groceries but not want to cook a meal afterward but when getting groceries at the Iowa Food Coop’s Osceola satellite site it’s easy to order a hot meal to take home along with the fresh Iowa produce.

Distribution days at Timber Ridge is 5-6:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Timber Ridge has a selection of sandwiches, chips and drinks along with pies, breads, pasta, soup kits and meat.

Producers approved to sell their products through Iowa Food Coop set their own prices and handle their own packaging. Producers will also be responsible for labeling their product when necessary and delivering sold products to Iowa Food Coop’s main facility in Des Moines.
