Area volleyball roundup: Central Decatur, Clarke's seasons come to an end

VAN METER – Central Decatur fell 3-0 to Class 2A No. 11 Van Meter Wednesday to end the Cardinals’ season.

Van Meter won 25-11, 25-8 and 25-13.

Mara Dykes had five assists to lead the team. Lyndsey Dale had six digs for a team-high. As a team, Central Decatur was 31-for-35 on serves.

Central Decatur’s season comes to a close at 5-18 and 2-9 in the Pride of Iowa.

Knoxville 3, Clarke 0

KNOXVILLE – Clarke’s season came to a close against Knoxville, losing 3-0 to the Panthers Monday, Oct. 19, not scoring more than nine points in any set.

Knoxville won 25-5, 25-9 and 25-9.

Kiaya Dunbar, Kalie Chamlee and Sophia Hicks each had two kills. Ali Henry had five assistfor a team-high. Dunbar led the team in digs with six.

The Lady Indians’ season ended at 5-17 and 1-7 in South Central Conference play.
