OCMS, CCDC partner with IASBDC for #IASBDCMOBILE communities free event

On October 1, local business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to a new #IASBDCMOBILE Community event from America’s SBDC Iowa. Held in partnership with Osceola Chamber Main Street and the Clarke County Development Corporation, business experts from around the area will be on hand to discuss unique business strategies, new opportunities, and more.

“With the recent COVID-19 closures, chances to network have been a challenge,” said Ethan Pitt, SBDC Iowa Regional Director. “This is a really unique effort from SBDC to address that and build stronger business practices throughout south central Iowa.”

The free event will be held in the CCDC Board Room from 8-11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. Intended to be casual and informative, attendees are welcome to come and go as they please. They can take the morning to talk with the expert guests about business challenges they may be facing, from marketing and accounting to operations, strategic processes, e-commerce, shipping, and more.

SBDC Iowa brings this opportunity to Osceola as the final stop in a series of community events around the state intended to help local business owners, as well as to promote and educate on the e-commerce platform, Shop Iowa. The SBDC team will be offering appointments all day to walk businesses through setting up their online shop on, stage products, and answer general questions. They recommend pre-registering for Shop Iowa before your scheduled appointment to make the most of your time. You can register on If interested in setting up an appointment, please reach out to Marketing Manager, Brianna Hall at

“This is a great opportunity,” said Bill Trickey, Executive Director of the Clarke County Development Corporation. “Whether you’re a start-up or have been a business owner for years, the chance to talk and collaborate with other successful professionals is priceless.”

Funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, America’s SBDC Iowa has 15 regional assistance centers located strategically across the state. Since program inception in 1981, the SBDC has helped Iowa businesses and entrepreneurs through no-fee, confidential, customized, professional business counseling and practical, affordable training workshops.
