Murray 70, Seymour 43
MOULTON – Murray rolled through Seymour in the Bluegrass Conference tournament Saturday, placing third in the conference tourney with the win.
A 27-10 first quarter set the tone for Murray as it held a comfortable lead from start to finish. The Mustangs closed out the game with a 20-10 fourth quarter.
Reece Held scored 23 points, going 9 of 19 from the field with eight rebounds and six assists. Colton Siefkas scored 21 points, grabbing 11 rebounds for a double-double. Kegan Johnson also scored 12 points in the blowout win.
Ogden 55, Interstate 35 31
OGDEN – Interstate 35 dropped a game on the road 55-31 to Ogden.
I-35 fell behind Ogden early, allowing a 26-13 lead at halftime. The Roadrunners scored 12 points in the fourth quarter for their only double-digit quarter of the night.
Carter Bussanmas put up 14 points with six rebounds. Sam Cox scored seven.
Clarke 62, Davis County 49
BLOOMFIELD – Clarke picked up its first win of the season, taking down Davis County 62-49 Friday.
The Indians pulled out to a slim 24-20 lead at halftime. Clarke put up 19 points in the third and fourth quarters to propel the team.
Dalton Stubbe scored 19 points with 12 rebounds for a double-double. Casey Kindred and Taylor Henry put up 10 points each.
Martensdale-St. Marys 60, Central Decatur 47
MARTENSDALE – Central Decatur fell 60-47 to Class 1A No. 9 Martensdale-St. Marys Thursday.
After a 15-14 first quarter, Martensdale-St. Marys extended its lead with a 19-point second quarter and never surrendered the lead.
Cole Pedersen scored 23 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field. Trey Hullinger put up 12 points with six rebounds.
Ankeny Christian 64, Murray 48
MOULTON – Murray lost in the semifinals of the Bluegrass Conference basketball tournament Thursday night against Ankeny Christian, falling 64-48.
Murray trailed by five entering halftime at 32-27 and was unable to pull the margin back in the second half as ACA pulled away.
Held scored 12 points, leading the team. Johnson and Siefkas each scored nine points.
Centerville 72, Clarke 62
CENTERVILLE – Clarke fell 72-62 to Centerville Tuesday.
Clarke held a 14-13 lead after the first quarter, but Centerville exploded to 23 second-quarter points. Outscoring Clarke 21-11 in the third quarter, Centerville took a commanding lead.
Clarke’s offense exploded for 31 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to make the comeback.
Umar Bulis scored 22 points on 8 of 8 shooting. Stubbe put up 12 points.
Des Moines Christian 71, Interstate 35 28
URBANDALE – Interstate 35 fell to Des Moines Christian 71-27 Tuesday.
The Roadrunners’ offense didn’t keep up with Des Moines Christian, scoring 11 points in the first quarter for its only double-digit quarter of the night.
Kale Day scored eight points while Mick Vonfelt put up seven points.
Central Decatur 67, Southeast Warren 32
LEON – Central Decatur steam rolled Southeast Warren 67-32 Tuesday.
The Cardinal offense exploded for 41 points in the first half while the defense held SEW to 13 points in the first half. CD never let up, scoring 26 points in the second half.
Michel Evertsen scored 16 points with seven rebounds and eight steals. Matthew Boothe recorded 13 points.
