This program was created out of a partnership between Fareway dietitian Caitlyn Ferin and Osceola Public Library Programming Specialist Tessa Hull.
15 young chefs attended the Kids Chopped Challenge at the Osceola Public Library July 24, 2019. Fareway dietitian, Caitlyn Ferin brought all the pantry items as well as each rounds’ secret ingredient. There were 3 rounds of competition. The first rounds’ secret ingredient was yogurt. Followed by a round using grains as the secret ingredient and the final rounds’ secret ingredient was tortillas. The kids all used their imaginations to create fantastic dishes that were not only delicious but visually creative. The Osceola Public Library’s Programming Specialist Tessa Hull and Fareway dietitian Caitlyn Ferin were the taste testers who determined the winners for each round. The Kid’s Chopped Challenge was a successful event that the Osceola Public Library hopes to bring again in the future!
