Joyce Ann O’Connor, 74, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, March 14, 2016, from her home in Noblesville, Indiana, after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer. She was dedicated to serving Christ and sharing His love to everyone she knew.
She was born July 25, 1941, to Fred and Hallie (Osborn) Davis, in Thayer. She grew up in rural Madison and Clarke counties and graduated from Osceola High School. She lived in Missoula, Montana, from 1975 to 2011 where she was a homemaker with her husband William (Bill) Carr. She had many hobbies including owning a successful beauty shop, numerous antique shops and making Victorian era clothing and lampshades. After Bill’s death, she moved to Indianapolis in 2011. She married Dennis O’Connor in November of 2013. She was a member of Harvest Bible Chapel in Carmel, Indiana.
Preceding her in death was her mother Hallie in 2001; brother Raymond in 1976; sister Donna Stalter in 2009 and former husband Bill Carr in 2011.
Survivors include husband Dennis O’Connor; sisters, Sharon (Chet) Reed and Connie (Darrell) Olmstead; sons, Doug Bishop and Jeff Bishop; grandchildren, Austin, Zachary, Joshua, Jacob and Jessica Bishop; six nieces and five nephews.
Graveside services were held 3 p.m. March 25 at Bethel Chapel Cemetery in Woodburn. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest Bible Chapel Missions at Harvest Bible Chapel of North Indy, 14550 River Road, Carmel, Indiana, 46033.
