Doris Arlene Williams Medora

Doris Arlene Williams, 83, of Medora passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loving family members.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Mike (Murt) of Altoona, Tim (Paula) of Indianola and Bruce (Michele) of Runnells; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sister Ellen Van Zee of Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lyle; grandson Ace; parents Bill and Mary Lepley; sister Esther and brothers, Lee, Ray and Herb.

Doris was very active in the Medora Methodist Church and Ladies Aid. Her days were filled with quilting, cooking, caring for her garden, camping, boating and visiting with her family and friends. She will always be fondly remembered for her warm smiles, hearty food and caring ways.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Overton Funeral Home, 501 W. Ashland Ave., in Indianola where family was present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in New Virginia Cemetery.
