I35 girls track wins at Corning, second at Winterset

Interstate 35 girls track continues to perform well leading up to the Drake Relays.

The Roadrunners won the Corning Girls Invitational April 19, narrowly edging out Treynor 108-106 for the victory.

Maddie Beeler set a new meet record in the 400 meter dash with her time of 58.26.

Interstate 35 also picked up victories in the 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay and sprint medley relay.

Monday, the Roadrunners finished second with 86 points at the Winterset Huskette Invitational. Earlham won with 102 points.

Beeler again won the 400 meter dash, this time with a clocking of 57.35, which is the second-fastest time in the state this year.

Ellen Lupkes won the 400 hurdles for the Roadrunners in a time of 1:08.30.

Interstate 35 also won the 4x200 relay and the sprint medley relay.
