Four wrestlers place at Coach Riley Invite

Clarke wrestling traveled to Greenfield on Saturday for the Coach Riley Invitational, with four varsity wrestlers placing in their weight classes.

150

Wrestling at 150 pounds, Urijah Fry placed first in his weight class. He won his first place match with a fall over Tristan Sinnard (Knoxville) at 1:15. In the semifinal, Fry won by fall over Layten Anderson (Wayne, Corydon) at 0:19, and by fall over Nathan Mederos (Mount Ayr) at 1:05 in the quarterfinal. Fry received a bye in the championship round.

Angel Gomez-Perez placed second in the 106 weight class. He lost by fall to Josh Nelson (Nodaway Valley) in the first place match at 2:38, then won by a fall over Degan Farwell (Southwest Valley) in the semifinal at 3:55. In the quarterfinal, Gomez-Perez won by 7-6 decision over Weston Adams (Mount Ayr), and received a bye in the championship round.

Conner Williams placed fourth in the 165 weight class. In the third place match, Williams lost by fall to Jacob Romans (Pleasantville) at 3:01, then won by fall over Bram Dahl (Nodaway Valley) in the consolation semi at 1:01. In the semifinal, Fischer Buckingham (Wayne, Corydon) won in a tie breaker - 1 over Williams, and Williams then won by major decision 14-2 over Barrett Hagey (Clarinda) in the quarterfinal. In the championship round, Williams won by fall over Dahl at 1:19.

A fifth place finish went to 126-pound wrestler Brandon Sanchez Flores. He won his fifth place match by a medical forfeit over Parker Wilson (CAM), then lost by a fall at 1:49 to Jaden Alexander (Knoxville) in the consultation semifinal. Sanchez Flores received a bye in both the consultation rounds 2 and 3, and lost by fall to Morrison Fullmer (Pleasantville) in the quarterfinal at 4:50. He received a bye in the championship round 1.

Bowen Page lost by fall at 2:20 in the consolation round 3 to Hunter Lund (Knoxville), and received a bye in round 2. In the quarterfinal, Page lost by technical fall to Krey Hunt (Central Decatur), and received a bye in the championship round 1.

Milad Ibraheem lost by 16-9 decision to Barrick Gladman (Bedford) in the consolation round 3. He received a bye in round 2, and lost by technical fall to Max Pollock (Wayne, Corydon) in the quarterfinal. In the championship round 1, Ibraheem received a bye.
