Area westling roundup: Central Decatur wins one in return

LEON – Central Decatur picked up one win its return from the holiday break Saturday.

The Cardinals took advantage of three forfeits against Nodaway Valley, winning 30-24. Central Decatur lost to Moberly 42-31 and Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas 48-30.

Devin Adams, at 132, pinned Nodaway Valley’s Zackery Gebbie at 1:10, and Zander Reed (160) scored a pin at 1:20 over Brandon Raasch for the two competed match wins. There were five double forfeits in the match.

Against Moberly, the Cardinals gave up 36 points from forfeits, with one double forfeit in the dual. William Gillis (126) scored a 14-1 major decision win, Adams Logan Jones (145) and Class 2A No. 195 Teagan Carson each scored pins. Reed won a 5-1 decision over Gannon White.

Taking on Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas in the final dual of the day, each wrestler to win a match scored pins. Gillis, Adams, Jones and Reed all pinned their opponent in the first period. Carson scored a pin in the second period at 2:29.
