No citations were issued following an accident in the Casey’s Parking lot on Oct. 10.
According to an Osceola police report, Raymond Flummer of Indianola, driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, was backing out of a parking spot and hit the Casey’s storage shed. Flummer told the responding officer that his motor had died, and he had lost his braking as a result. Officer Pettry asked Flummer if he needed a tow, and Flummer declined, saying he thought his vehicle would run and have working brakes. Flummer restarted his vehicle, and demonstrated that the brakes worked.
Damage is estimated at $1,500 to the 2005 Pontiac.

One citation for following too close was issued after an accident on Oct. 12 on Highway 69 North.
According to an Osceola police report, Bryon Jimmerson of Osceola, driving a 2017 Ram 250 was turning left onto Park Lane when a 2002 Saturn SL driven by Clayton Abbas of Osceola struck him from behind. The airbags in Abbas’ vehicle were deployed upon impact, and Abbas was cited for following too close.
Damage is estimated at $2,500 to the 2017 Ram and $5,000 to the 2002 Saturn.

Two citations were issued following an accident on Oct. 15 in the 100 block of North Fillmore St.
According to an Osceola police report, officer Fitzpatrick observed a 2009 Toyota Corolla, driven by Claudia Ventura-Medina of Osceola, drive up onto the sidewalk and run over a handicap sign, knocking it to the ground. Ventura-Medina was arrested for driving under the influence and cited for OWI first offense. Ventura-Medina was also cited for child endangerment no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $2,500 to the 2009 Toyota and $1,000 in property damage to the handicap sign.
