Logan Dean Holste, 23, of NW 6th Street Apt. 4 Greenfield, was charged with eluding 4:06 p.m. Aug. 1 on U.S. Highway 34 east.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, deputies observed a black sport bike traveling at speeds over 80mph. They then initiated emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop. The motorcycle continued westbound on U.S. Highway 34 at speeds over 105mph. The motorcycle finally came to a stop west of the Clarke/ Union County line on the Union county side. The pursuit lasted approximately four miles. Through this the driver split same direction and oncoming lanes of traffic to try and elude deputies causing traffic to make abrupt evasive movements to prevent a collision.

Enrique Roman Barrientos, 44, of East Grace Street, was charged with OWI second offense 9:25 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 1000 block of South Ridge Road.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that was leaving the Osceola Tree Dump. The vehicle was stopped due to having a break light out. Prior to this occurring deputies were called here to investigate this same vehicle being possible stuck in the ditch. When deputies arrived the vehicle was pulling away and located under the car were two beer cans that still had beer in them.

It was at this point deputies followed the vehicle and initiated the traffic stop. When asked about the beer cans Barrientos admitted that he left them there because he was scared to get caught with them. When asked if he had anything to drink that day he advised he has had two beers two hours earlier. Barrientos was asked to perform standardized field sobriety testing and consented to the test. Barrientos failed the three tests.

Christopher Earl Baker, 37, of 130th Street Diagonal, was charged with OWI 1:18 a.m. Aug. 21 at the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Baker was advised he was stopped for going 83 in a 55. Baker was asked if he had anything to drink that day which he advised he had. Deputies observed several signs of intoxication. Baker also advised he was intoxicated and requested to just PBT him. A PBT was offered and Baker did provide a sample which was over .08% after a 15 minute observation window.

William Harrison Freeman, 30, of East Webster Street, was charged with second degree theft, eluding and driving under suspension 9:27 p.m. Aug. 24 at 100 E. Jefferson St.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Deputies saw a red and black dirt bike traveling west on Ayers street, turning onto Kossuth Street, south bound. They could see that the dirt bike had no license plate and was apparently running from them. Deputies activated emergency lights and siren on the fully marked patrol vehicle and pursued the vehicle through the side streets. Osceola Police were able to continue the pursuit with marked patrol vehicles after deputies lost sight of the vehicle. Once they had Freeman in custody deputies got to the scene and found that Freeman and the dirt bike were the same that had had been in pursuit earlier. Dispatch had relayed Freeman was suspended to drive in the State of Iowa, and was wanted on a parole violation warrant out of Polk County. A check of the VIN of the Honda Dirt bike was reported as stolen in NCIC. The bike was reported stolen in Marshall County Iowa. When confronted, Freeman stated that he did not know the dirt bike was stolen, he was told that he was allowed to ride the bike by an unknown male who Freeman refused to identify.
