Maxwell Isaac Goodwin, 21, of Indianola, was cited for lost failure to provide proof of financial liability after an accident 12:45 a.m. Feb. 8 at the intersection of Main Street and LeAnn Drive.

According to an Osceola Police report, Goodwin, driving a 2016 Toyota, Goodwin was distracted and lost control on ice or snow, struck the Cross Ministries mailbox, went over LeAnn Drive and into the ditch on the north side.

Estimated damage was $150 for Cross Ministries’ mailbox and $3,000 to Goodwin’s vehicle.

Sumaili Alulea, 19, of Kansas City, Missouri, was cited for no valid drivers license after an accident 7:55 p.m. Feb. 11 on Interstate 35.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, as Larry David Rourke, 63, of Oelwein, driving a 2020 Freightliner, passes Alulea who then lost control due to slick road conditions. Alulea’s vehicle slid into Rourke’s lane, struck the trailer of Rourke’s vehicle and ended up in the median.

Estimated damage was $12,000 to Rourke’s vehicle and $7,000 to Alulea’s vehicle.
