Mike Allen

Mike joined 4-H when he was ten years old and stayed active all through high school until he graduated. He showed cattle at the Clarke County Fair and at 4-H shows at the Iowa State Fair and AKSARBEN.

He was on the Clarke County Fair Board over fifteen years and its President five years. Mike played a huge part in moving the Fairgrounds fair facilities to a new location spending many hours fundraising and completing paperwork for grants to help fund the project and assisting with the design of the project.

Mike was involved in 4-H helping his own kids with their projects staying involved after the kids were out of school. He helped other families and kids with their 4-H projects and getting kids involved in 4-H.

Mike helped the kids by going with them to purchase animals, teaching them how to feed their animals and even would give the kids a place to keep their animals if needed. He was involved more than sixty years helping kids in 4-H.

In August of 2020 Mike was an Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame Inductee.

Sadly he passed away from cancer in June of that year.
