Beverly “Bev” Ann Norris, daughter of Charles Howard Nance and Lula Helen Cole Nance was born July 6, 1943 in King City, California and passed from this life Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Independence Village in Waukee at 81 years of age.

Bev received her education in California at Gustine Union High School where she was a member of the spanish club and Future Homemakers of America and graduated in 1961.

She was united in marriage to Leonard (Gene) Eugene Norris on May 28, 1965 in Merced, CA. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Newman, CA. Soon after their marriage Gene and Bev moved to Grimes, IA and resided there for 54 years.

Bev worked as a in house auditor at Bank of America and later in the sales department at Younkers. She was heavily involved in all of her son Howard’s activities, from sports to scouts. She enjoyed volunteering at the public library.

Bev was an avid reader, cake decorator, and she enjoyed shopping garage sales. She adored spending time with her grandkids. She liked to cook for her family and make candies at holidays; always delivering to family and friends with a smile. “Her chicken-pot-pies were the best!” a quote from her grandson, Matthew.

Those relatives who preceded Beverly in death were her husband, father, and mother, father-in-law, Dean Hutcheson, mother-in-law, Mildred Hutcheson, brother, Leroy Turnage, sister-in-law, Lorraine Turnage, sister, Lucille Turnage Gibbons, brother-in-law, Buck Gibbons, brother, G.A. “Jack” Gibbons, sister in law , Phyllis Gibbons, brother, Edgar Ray Nance, sister-in-law, Sherry Hutcheson, and infant brother Billy Leon Nance.

Beverly leaves to cherish her memory; son, Howard (Susan) Norris of Grimes, IA, Grandchild, Matthew Norris of Dallas Center, IA, Grandchild, Jessica Norris of Ames, IA, brother-in-law, Tom (Stacey) Hutcheson of Hudson, IA, sister, Fern Nance Whitman of McAllister, OK, and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Murray Cemetery.
