Greg McBurney

Greg Leroy McBurney, son of Cecil Leroy McBurney and Dorothy Mae Westbrook McBurney was born December 20, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed from this life Friday, May 5, 2023 at Intermountain Medical Center at 64 years of age.

Greg received his education in Des Moines Technical High School where he participated in the ROTC.

He was united in marriage to Catina “Tina” Jean McMurry on December 9, 2003 in Las Vegas, NV.

Greg had his CDL for over forty years. He worked for Des Moines Asphalt for 18 years, driving a truck in the off season. He was currently driving full time for Windsor Windows and Doors and was a member of Teamsters Local 90 and Operators Union Local #234.

He enjoyed camping, dart leagues, and bowling leagues over the years and also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on small trips. He was a trucker through and through, always checking out all the different semi types.

Those relatives who preceded Gregory in death were his 1st. wife, Teresa Mechelle McBurney, father, Cecil Leroy McBurney, mother, Dorothy Mae McBurney, step-father, Fred Erickson, brother, Doug McBurney.

(Katy Kass) Johnson of Waukee, IA, grandchildren, Randal Gregory Kint, Andrew William Kint, William Benjamin Bride, Jesse Christopher Bride, Michelle Renae McBurney, Cole Thomas Johnson, Connor Paul Johnson, Jett Eudean Johnson, Joseph Rasar Johnson, great-grandchild, Alice Johnson, great-greatgrandchild, Ryder Johnson, brother, Chuck (Pat) McBurney of Dallas Center, IA, brother, Jim (Diane) McBurney of Des Moines, IA, brother, Jerry (Tammy) McBurney of Des Moines, IA, niece, Laura McBurney (Ryan) Bengston of Minburn, IA, great-niece, Olivia McBurney, niece, Cristin McBurney (Dustin) Lantz of Redfield, IA, great-niece, Lilian Lantz, great-nephew, Isaac Lantz, nephew, Payton McBurney of Des Moines, IA, niece, Kim Sandburg of West Des Moines, IA, nephew, Jeremy McBurney, nephew, Joshua McBurney of Des Moines, IA, great-niece, Audrey McBurney, great-niece, Autumn McBurney, niece, Tiffany (Matthew Montgomery) McBurney of IN, great-niece, Jasmine Montgomery, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Private Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home - Osceola; interment will be in the Murray Cemetery.
