Mary Kae Frantz

Mary Kae Frantz, daughter of Joe and Margaret (Gray) Williamson was born December 21, 1936 in Osceola, IA. She went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2022 at Serenity Assisted Living in Marshfield, WI at 85 years of age.  She found out three months ago she had Stage IV lung cancer. She never smoked.

Mary Kae spent her first 49 years in Clarke County, IA.  She graduated from Osceola High School in 1955.  That October, she married Dean Halvorsen.  They later divorced. She married Dean Frantz. They lived in Oklahoma for over 30 years.  She was a merchandiser and helped wash windows.  She always had a dog.  Her favorite was Twinkle, but so was Bobby Blue; Josie Wales; Kitty.. She loved reading the bible.  She worked hard to make a home for her family by crocheting, baking , sewing, and helping with fieldwork.

Mary Kae was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Margaret Williamson; sisters:  JoDee in infancy; Myrna Sanderson; Kellie Carlson.

Mary Kae leaves to cherish her memory: son, Mark (Karen) Halvorsen of Hawley, MN; daughter, Deana (Steve) Kalmon of Marshfield, WI. Grandchildren Eric Grasmick of Cedar Falls, IA; Andreya Halvorsen of Hawley, MN; Great grandchildren Roland Grasmick, Penelope Grasmick, and Annika Grasmick of Cedar Falls, IA. Sister Kathi Hainline of Leon, IA. Sisters-in-laws Phyllis Halvorsen; Helen Ernst; Mary Ann Halvorsen; Sandy Selzer, many nieces and nephews. And dear friend, Francis, at Serenity Living.

No memorial service is being planned per her humble request.

Mary Kae’s favorite bible scripture was Psalm 95:6-7  O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. To day if ye will hear His voice.
