Randy Allen

Randy Eugene Allen, son of Betty Allen and the late Harold (Junior) Allen, was born on July 10, 1958 in Des Moines, IA and passed from this life on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Des Moines, IA at the age of 62.

Randy grew up around the New Virginia area where he started school and finished in Osceola.

He worked for the Des Moines-Pleasant Hill Plumbing and during this time drove all over Des Moines on a backhoe. He worked for Saxton, Inc. building off ramps along the interstate. He and his dad worked for mechanical contractors by the name of L.A. Fulton & Sons for around 14 years. During this time, one of their jobs was plumbing the Design Center in Ames. This was a six story high building (a first for them) and when it was finished, Randy was very proud of the fat all the stools flushed. He also enjoyed the time he did dirt work for Bud Jones. Randy and his dad did many jobs of their own all over the New Virginia/Truro area.

He has many special friends and appreciated their help and support through the years. This meant a lot to him.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Harold (Junior) Allen and his siblings Barbara Williams, Gerry Allen and Richard Walton. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Betty Allen; daughters Mindi (Chad) Vermeys, Megan (Jeff) Prins, Haylea Allen and Dawn Broesder; sisters Sheryl (David) Gilbert, Crystal (Tim) Locke, Jennie Beery, Lorene Tigner and Teresa (Michael) Lytle; brothers Erik Williams, Ralph (Angie) Williams and Andy (DIanne) Curnes. He is also survived by five grandchildren Mathew Terell, Maycee Vermeys, Charlie Vermeys, Ryan Prins, Abby Jo Prins, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
