Feller’s Cake Auction will be March 28

The annual Feller’s Cake Auction is set to take place on Tuesday, Mar. 28.

The auction features baked dessert creations courtesy of local Cub Scouts Pack 101 and Scout Troop 104 members, made with the help of an adult role model. Cub Scouts, grades first through fifth, and Scouts, aged 11 to 18, each have the chance to concoct, decorate and donate a baked good of their choosing in an activity that helps to break down stereotypes while encouraging bonding and sparking creativity.

The auction, which serves as a fundraising activity, allows the scouts to participate in the auctioneering process, where they present their edible goods to the audience and talk about what they have made - this part also serves as a practice in public speaking. The proceeds from the auctioned items go towards various scouting programs, such as summer camp, as well as awards and activities done throughout the year. Each scout writes a thank you letter to the purchaser of their baked goods.

The Feller’s Cake Auction will be held in the Clarke Elementary cafeteria at 6 p.m. The doors, on the south side of the school, open at 5:45 to allow bidders the chance to view the variety of baked goods.

Those who are unable to attend but would like to contribute to the local scouts or with any questions can contact Calli Shields at 712-304-2886.
