Clarke County Treasurers office celebrates Organ Donor Awareness Month

The Clarke County Treasurer’s Office staff celebrated Organ Donor Awareness Month by wearing shirts donated from the Lienemann family of Waukee and giving out green bracelets.

The Lienemann family donated shirts to all 99 Iowa counties to help raise awareness about the good organ donation can bring. Drew Lienemann died by suicide January of 2016. Because he was a registered organ donor he was able to help 194 people after his death. His organs and tissues such as bones, connective tissues, skin and liver improved lives of people around the world.
