House Speaker Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) recently announced that Rep. Joel Fry (R-Osceola) will serve as the Chair of the House Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee during the 89th General Assembly.
“I am excited to continue leading the Health and Human Services budget committee and look forward to our work ahead,” said Fry. “Health care is a critically important issue to many Iowans and I will ensure that their tax dollars are spent efficiently and effectively while funding our priorities.”
Fry has served as Chairman of the Health and Human Services budget committee since 2019 and previously chaired the Human Resources Committee.
“The Health and Human Services budget is challenging and complex, yet Rep. Fry has done a tremendous job serving as Chair over the past two years. I know he will continue to ensure that Iowans’ health care priorities are funded in a responsible way,” said Speaker Grassley.
The legislative session begins Monday, January 11, 2021.
