MOUNT AYR – The Clarke boys lost their season opener on the road Monday night, falling to Mount Ayr 65-43.
Clarke trailed 42-15 entering halftime, and had a second-half surge in points, outscoring the Raiders by five across both quarters.

Girls basketball
Mount Ayr 29, Clarke 26
MOUNT AYR – The Clarke girls lost a tight, low-scoring affair in Mount Ayr Monday night, falling 29-26 to the Raiderettes.
Neither side scored more than eight points in a quarter. Clarke trailed by one entering the half, but couldn’t close the gap in the second half.

Earlham 57, Central
Decatur 52
LEON – Central Decatur’s girls lost their season opener Friday, Nov. 20, falling to Earlham by five at 57-52.
Central Decatur was led by Hallee Hamilton’s 15 points. Layni Masters also had double-digit scoring, amassing 13 points.
Lyndsey Dale, Eily Hall and Lauren Martin each scored 10 points. Masters had five rebounds, three assists and five steals, all for a team-high.
Clarke 55, Martensdale-St Marys 50 (OT)
OSCEOLA – Clarke beat Martensdale-St Marys Tuesday, Nov. 24, in an overtime win where the Lady Indians won 55-50.
Clarke led at halftime by nine, but a 14-3 third quarter in favor of the Blue Devils swung the momentum the other way. Clarke forced overtime, eventually winning in the extra frame.
Tori White led in scoring with 17 points on 7 of 14 shooting. Kaitlyn Halsband scored 13 points on 6 of 19 shooting and Kiaya Dunbar contributed 10 points also.
White grabbed 10 rebounds, eight defensively, for a double-double. Tory Henry had a team-leading six assists and Ali Henry led with seven steals.
