Karson Edgar, 27, of McLain Street, was charged with OWI first offense1:42 a.m. Sunday at the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, the vehicle almost turned left while in front of a patrol car when he did not have the right of way. Upon initial contact there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle when I was speaking to the driver. Edgar was asked for his license, registration, and insurance. Edgar was able to provide his license and registration but struggled to provide his insurance. His gf ended up giving his insurance to us. Edgar admitted to having three beers recently when I asked if he had anything to drink. Edgar had consented to field sobriety testing. Edgar performed all of the requested test and failed. Edgar consented to a PBT which was over the legal limit.

Bond was set at $1,000.
