Area cross country roundup: Clarke opens season in Corydon

season at Wayne

CORYDON – Clarke raced at Wayne Sept. 3, running in its first race of the season.

The Clarke boys placed sixth, scoring 149 points. The girls team did not score.

The leading boys runner for Clarke was Calhoun Lundquist, who ran a time of 20:12.55 for 15th fastest. Ethan Domina was 20th, running a time of 20:44.45. The fastest boy in the pack was Randy Jimenez of Southeast Warren, who clocked a time of 16:53.47.

On the girls side, Katie Donaldson opened the season with a 10th place finish with a time of 24:16.32. The winner of the girls race was J Lyn Knutson of Melcher-Dallas with a time of 22:08.22.

Rebecca Van Buren placed 30th (26:31.93) as the only other Lady Indian runner to clock a time.

Central Decatur also raced at the Wayne Invitational. Results from the Cardinals can be found in last week’s issue of the Sentinel Tribune.
