Spot Clarke Athletic Booster Club’s traveling toilet

Clarke Booster Club is sending a toilet around town for the Flush ‘Em Out Fundraiser

Clarke Athletic Booster Club is letting community members pay to send a Clarke themed toilet to homes and businesses around town in the Flush ‘Em Out Fundraiser.

“During times like these we just need some light hearted fun,” said Booster Club member Alisha Kale who brought the idea to the group.

The Athletic Booster Club does most of its fundraising in the summer at the baseball and softball concession stands but COVID-19 put a damper of their usually successful summer. The traveling toilet fundraiser kicked off at Clarke’s first home football game Aug. 28.

Kale began her quest for a toilet this summer by keeping and eye on the Osceola Swap Facebook page and casually bringing up her need for a toilet to friends.

“That’s a funny way to start any conversation, ‘By the way, do you have a used toilet laying around?’ After I described my vision we all laughed,” said Kale.

There is currently one Clarke toilet in rotation with a second being decorated for the fundraiser and a third on the way.

The Flush ‘Em Out Fundraiser goes like this, to have the toilet placed anywhere in town, including a local business or residence pay the Clarke Athletic Booster Club $10, to have the toilet removed from your business or residence pay $10, to remove the toilet and send it to another place of your choosing pay $20. The toilet will be removed from the premises after 24 hours. Potty Protection Insurance can be purchased for $30 to insure that the toilet cannot be sent to or back to a persons property.

“If someone decides to be a ‘potty pooper’ we will remove the toilet at no charge,” said Kale. “This is a lighthearted way to help support our Indians.”

All proceeds go to the Clarke Athletic Booster Club which help provide equipment, uniforms and items needed for Clarke athletes in order to support a memorable experience while in middle and high school.

The fundraiser will continue for as long as community members enjoy be ‘flushed’.
