Harold Elwyn McCoy, 76, of Lucas, was cited for failure to yield upon making a left hand turn after an accident 11:03 a.m. Aug. 24 at the intersection of Highway 34 and Highway 69.
According to an Osceola police report, McCoy, driving a 2004 Chevy truck turned left from Highway 34 onto Highway 69 and had a green light only but Torrance M. Ladner, 37, of Illinois, driving a 2009 Chevy east on Highway 34 with a green light had the right of way and the two vehicles collided.
Estimated damage was $5,000 to Ladner’s vehicle and $5,000 to McCoy’s vehicle.

Samantha Jean Edgerton, 35, of Osceola, was cited for failure to maintain her vehicle and striking another vehicle in the roadway after an accident 3:29 p.m. Friday at the railroad track and Main Street.
According to an Osceola Police report, Ignacia Gomez Rico, 73, of Osceola, driving a 2016 Ford was in the middle of the railroad tracks when the railroad arms began to go down so she put the vehicle in reverse to get back south of the tracks, striking the railroad arm and Edgerton’s 2009 Chevy. Gomez Rico was at fault for this accident.
Estimated damage was $2,000 to the BNSF railroad arm, $2,000 to Edgerton’s vehicle and $500 to Gomez Rico’s vehicle.
