The Osceola Municipal Golf Course hosted its first Family Fun Night 5-8 p.m. July 22 and a second will be held Aug. 19.

The first event had a free hot dog dinner sponsored by First National Bank of Osceola available in the clubhouse. 22 families attended the event.

"Overall, there was a great turnout with many new faces that night," said Laura Held, Chair of the Osceola Municipal Golf Course Commission. "Hopefully there will be even more families on August 19. The Commission felt this would be a fun family event this summer."

On Family Fun Night special tee boxes and holes are set up to make it easier for children to play. Children 12 and under play free with a paid adult or season pass holder. Youth golf clubs and carts are limited.

To participate in the second Family Fun Night Aug. 19 spots can be reserved by calling 641-342-3717 or by stopping in the clubhouse at 400 E. Fayette St.

"It's good to see so many families take advantage of this opportunity," said Tim Riddle, Osceola Parks and Rec Director. "Not only for family bonding time but the introduction of this lifetime sport to the youth of our community."

Green Fees for adults are $10 per person for nine hold, $15 per person for 18 holes. The cart rental is separate. Single season passes are $495, a family season pass is $645. A punch card for 15 rounds of golf is available for $100, good for this season only.
