Terry Lee Ashby, son of George Ashby and Lucille Ashby was born January 24, 1948 in Lucas, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 72 years of age.

Terry grew up in the Lucas area, he helped on the family farm for many years. He moved to Des Moines and was united in marriage to Carol Marie Kline on April 17, 1971 in Des Moines, they were blessed with three daughters, Jamie, Jodi and Terri. They moved to Murray in 1990.

Terry was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234. He worked many years operating heavy equipment for Des Moines Asphalt and Paving. Terry was a hard-working family man. He loved his family and enjoyed time with all of them, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He was a great cook and made great chicken and noodles from scratch. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Those relatives who preceded Terry in death were his parents, George and Lucille Ashby, sister, Peggy Otto and brothers, George Eddy and Bobby Ashby.

Terry leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Carol Ashby of Murray, IA, daughter, Jamie Miller of Murray, IA, daughter, Jodi (Kim) Brammer of Murray, IA, daughter, Terri Ashby of Ankeny, IA, son-in-law, Steve Kiss of Des Moines, IA, brother, Jim (Dee) Ashby of Winterset, IA, brother, Doyle (Deb) Ashby of Norwalk, IA, brother, Steve Ashby of Truro, IA, brother, Rick (Carol) Ashby of Murray, IA; brother-in-law Ed Otto; sister-in-law, Carol Ashby of Murray, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Teresa) Miller of Thayer, IA, Todd Miller of Osceola, IA, Raquel (Raymond) Miller of Osceola, IA, Brandon (Erica) Hill of Boone, IA, Brett Brammer of Creston, IA, Chappell Brammer of Murray, IA, Steven Kiss of Ankeny, IA, Emily Kiss of Ankeny, IA, 10 great-grandchildren, Otis, Arien, Jasper, Vada, Haden, Hala, Summer, Skyler, Dawson, Jakesen, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Services will be held at Union Cemetery, north of Murray in Clarke Co., Saturday February 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Rev. James “Pete” R. Sheesley officiating.

Family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, prior to the graveside at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Food Pantry at Osceola Full Gospel Church, 700 W. Colorado St.,Osceola, Iowa
