Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21 on 220th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Jacob Gene Carson, 26, of Osceola, driving a 2000 Lincoln was north bound on 220th Avenue when a tire on his vehicle blew out causing the vehicle to enter the ditch and spin on the muddy ground until it struck a woven wire fence that separated 220th Avenue from Intestate 35, the vehicle laid down the wire fence for about 100 feet then came to rest on top of a wooden post.

Estimated damage was $1,000 to the State of Iowa for the fence and $2,000 to Carson’s vehicle.

Maria Isabel Perez Acosta, 33, of Osceola, was cited for no insurance and failure to yield after an accident 3:45 p.m. Oct. 22 at the intersection of West Cass Street and South Main Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, Perez Acosta, driving a 2004 Jeep, was stopped at the stop sign on Cass St. upon entering the intersection to cross Main Street Perez Acosta pulled out in front of Dylan Joe Bragg, 20, of Osceola, driving a 2016 Freightliner and was struck by Bragg’s vehicle.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to Bragg’s vehicle and $4,000 to Perez Acosta’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:33 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Wal Mart parking lot.

According to an Osceola Police report, Brian Leroy Bohall, 30, of Osceola, driving a 2014 Nissan was backing out of his parking space at the same time as Oscar Alberto Martinez Rodriguez, 27, of Osceola, driving a 2017, the spaces were directly across from one another so as Rodriguez began to pull forward his vehicle was struck by Bohall’s vehicle.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Rodriguez’s vehicle and $1,5000 to Bohall’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 11 a.m. Oct. 24 on Highway 69.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Ashley Ann Sheehan, 32, of Osceola, driving a 1997 GMC hauling a trailer carrying a disabled vehicle was north bound on the 1600 blk of Highway 69 when the trailer began to sway causing Sheehan to lose control, enter the east ditch and roll the vehicle over landing on its top.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Sheehan’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 11:40 p.m. Oct. 24 on Highway 34.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Steven Eugene Lobberecht, 52, of Knoxville, driving a 2010 Chevy was west bound on Highway 34 when a deer came out of the south ditch, Lobberecht swerved and the deer bumped against the rear driver side quarter panel.

Estimated damage was $300 to Lobberecht’s vehicle.
