Andrew Glen Schrodt, son of Harold Leroy Schrodt and Evelyn Mae Kirkpatrick Schrodt was born November 21, 1956 in Corning, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, October 21, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospitals at 62 years of age.

Andy has been a lifelong resident of Murray, Iowa where he received his education from Murray High School graduating in 1975.

Andy began his working career at an early age farming and working at King Construction operating heavy equipment. He later moved to Colorado and continued working as a heavy equipment operator for four years until 1981 at which time he returned to Murray. He began a new career driving truck under the CB handle “Hired Hand” first for Gary and Pennie Gonseth and most recently with Jeff Knott Freighters, LLC.

In 1981, upon his return to Murray, Andy met and began dating Ronda Ann Fouche and they were united in marriage on August 20, 1983 at Andy’s parents home in Murray. Three girls, Hannah, Rachael and Morgan have blessed this union.

Andy was a member of the Owner Operator Independent Driving Association, The Million Miler Club and was soon to be baptized at Murray Church of Christ where he attended. Andy was known by his family and friends to never have known a stranger, even when he visited Hannah and Barry in Ireland. When not on the road Andy loved spending time outdoors watching the birds, collecting vinyl records and listening to the music he loved. He was known as the “Pancake King” by his daughters and their volleyball friends who frequently came to the house for his M&M pancakes.

Those relatives who preceded Andy in death were his father-in-law, Ronald Isaac Fouche; great niece, Piper Jean Schrodt and his aunt and uncle, Tipp and Agnes Schrodt.

Andy leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Ronda Ann Schrodt of Murray, IA; , daughters, Hannah (Barry) Tangney of Dublin, Ireland,  Rachael (Andy) Smith of Murray, IA, and Morgan (Cal Gruening) Schrodt of Iowa City, IA; granddaughter, Rozlyn Smith; parents, Harold L. and Evelyn M. Schrodt of Murray, IA;  brothers,  Steve (Laura) Schrodt of Altoona, IA, Jerry Schrodt of Osceola, IA, mother-in-law, Shirley A. Fouche of Osceola, IA, sister-in-law, Joy Sue (Dianna) Fouche of Lake Stevens, WA as well as other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Saturday October 26, 2019 at 10:30 am with Pastor Brian McCracken officiating.

Visitation will be open Friday, October 25 and  the family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday evening, at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Fremont Cemetery at a later time.
