Clarke County Hospital is pleased to announce that we have a new dermatologist joining our team of leased space providers in the Outpatient Services Clinic starting in April.
Dr. Eric Harlan grew up in Clive attending Valley High School and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Iowa. He obtained his medical degree from the University Of Iowa Carver College Of Medicine. Dr. Eric Harlan completed his dermatology residency training at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. During his training, he also spent time at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota as well as Mayo Scottsdale, Arizona working with some of the most prominent dermatologists today. He has returned to join his father, Steven Harlan, M.D., a fellow Mayo-trained dermatologist, providing quality and compassionate dermatologic care. Dr. Eric Harlan specializes in general medical and surgical dermatology for patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
Dermatologists specialize in treating skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes (e.g., the lining inside the mouth, nose and eyelids). Dermatologists diagnose and treat more than 3,000 different diseases. These diseases include skin cancer, eczema, acne, psoriasis and nail infections.
A Dermatologist can also improve the appearance of their patients’, hair and nails.
For example, a dermatologist can help patients:
Diminish wrinkles, age spots and other signs of aging.
Have less noticeable acne scars.
Look more like themselves after surgery to remove skin cancer.
Dr. Eric Harlan will be here monthly offering patients a wide variety of dermatologic services starting on April 25th. He can see patients of all ages - from newborns to people older than 100 years of age. To schedule an appointment in Osceola, please call the Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Center at 515.225.8180 for Clarke County Hospital outreach.
