Tina Marie Hodges, 44, of Grand River died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at her home.
A visitation with family present was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola. Per Tina's wishes, cremation followed her visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Tina Marie Hodges, daughter of Hal Richard Bowers and Sherry Shook, was born March 8, 1972, in Des Moines. Tina received her education in Murray High School, graduating in 1990, and later attended AIB in Des Moines studying business. She later attended Hamilton College and received her associate degree in criminal justice.
She worked as a secretary for Fountain West Care Center and then Iowa Public Television for a number of years before she returned to school.
Tina was a lifetime resident of the Murray area and attended Hopeville United Methodist Church.
Tina is survived by her fiancé John Hansen of Murray; daughter Haley Rae Hodges (James Williams) of Murray; brothers, Charlie (Carrie) Bowers of Hannibal, Missouri, and Rick Bowers of Granbury, Texas; sister Charety Kneedler of Murray; step-mother Mary Bowers of Murray; mother Sherry (John Shook) of Granbury, Texas; aunts, Diane (Geoff) Laurenzo of Des Moines, Deb (Austin) Brown of Martensdale and Sherry Fales of Runnells; grandmother Barb Prenosil of Des Moines; mother-in-law Barb Woods of St. Charles; sisters-in-law, Dana Hansen of St. Charles and Laura Hansen of Indianola; many children who she considered her “grandchildren;” as well as many cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Tina was preceded in death by her father Hal Richard Bowers; grandparents, Norman and Betty Bowers; great-grandmother Millie Bowers and father-in-law Darrel Woods.
