ARREST
Dillon Eckhardt, 28, of Osceola was charged with OWI on Sept. 27.
Michael Ridley, 39, of Osceola was charged with public intoxication on Sept. 27.
Anthony Peacher, 23, of Osceola was charged with failure to comply with sex offender registry on Oct. 8. Preacher was arrested in Madison County and picked up by Clarke County Sheriff's office for failing to live where he is registered, a class D felony. Preacher is being held in the Clarke County Jail.
Daniel Rainer, 22, of Osceola was charged Oct. 6 with domestic abuse assault and failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance. Rainer was sentenced to seven days in the Clarke County Jail.
ACCIDENT
A Weldon man was charged with unsafe passing on Oct. 6. Maury McBroom was traveling south on Highway 69 when he attempted to pass two vehicles, one of which was turning into a driveway. McBroom's vehicle went into the ditch to avoid hitting the turning vehicle and then came to rest on its side in a field. Damage is estimated at $10,000 to McBroom's car.
An accident in New Virginia on Oct. 8 resulted in a totaled car and $8,000 in damage to a pickup truck. Michael Vogt was heading east on Pine Street approaching the top of a hill in the middle of the roadway and struck the vehicle of Christina Patrick, New Virginia, totaling her car. Vogt was charged with failure to yield half of roadway.
