Cory Lee Sanford, 40, of 220 Avenue Osceola, was charged with disorderly conduct- fight/violence 8:30 a.m. June 14 at 220 Townline Rd.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, law enforcement respond to male general population in the jail for two inmates that were fighting. The inmates were separated and moved to booking cells. One of the men involved in the fight was taken to the emergency room to have an injury treated. The injury was a result of the fight. The victim told officers he was in his cell, when Sanford entered his cell and punched him in the face. He stated that he then followed Sanford from the cell and mutual combat commenced in the common area of male GP then into another cell. The victim stated that Sanford accused him of participating in a burglary to Sanford’s residence.

Sanford stated that he called the victim a “bitch” then walked out of the cell. Sanford claimed that the victim followed him into the common area where the victim instigated a fight. Sanford stated that he took the victim to the ground in a neighboring cell and struck him in the face leaving the victim with an injury around his eye.

CO Tracy stated she had to clean up blood from the victim’s cell and the cell where the fight transitioned to. The fact that there was blood in both cells, officers believed the injury to the victim’s eye was done in his cell when he claimed Sanford entered and punched him and the blood in the other cell was from the fight moving to that cell. Several inmates who were in the pod at the time of the fight stated that they did not hear or see what happened in the victim’s cell and only saw him following then engaging in a fight with Sanford in the common area. Both men engaged in mutual combat where other people were gathered, and one of those engaged in the fight sustained an injury.

Vladislav Goryachy, 32, of Smith Street Woodburn, was charged with domestic abuse assault 7:23 p.m. June 17 at 917 Smith St. Woodburn.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Goryachy told law enforcement that he and the victim got into a argument as he was trying to leave the house. Goryachy stated while he was trying to leave the victim threw a brick at his truck leaving a dent and he wanted to press charges.

Law enfocement contacted the victim and she told them she came home from the pool and Goryachy was upset and accused her of cheating on him. She also stated that she was trying to leave when Goryachy exited his truck, chased her around the yard throwing bricks at her and grabbing for her back. The victim stated that she had marks on her back and he tore her swim suit. The victim stated that she grabbed a brick and threw it at the truck. She then advised she ran inside with out her shoes, grabbed her car keys and left. Goryachy advised he wished to not fill out a witness more then he already had as he didn’t want to say something to get him in trouble. Goryachy was placed under arrest for domestic assault simple.

Kyler Aulden Short, 21, of Mason Avenue Des Moines, was charged with third-degree harassment 12 a.m. Saturday at 1700 240th Avenue Osceola.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, the victim was inside Kum and Go the he was approached by Short who verbally threatened him. The victim then left the store and Short continued to threaten him while outside of the store. The victim then drove to his residence where Short (who lives next door to him) also arrived at the property and started to drive in and tear up his field. The victim has had many issues with Short driving in his field which has resulted in him talking to Short about it and involving law enforcement. Short has also threatened him over text message. The victim gave a written statement and will be forwarding screen shots of the messages and photos of Short in his field along with the damage that he has done.
