Doug received his early education at Clarke Community High School in Osceola, graduating in 1976. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Southwestern Community College in Creston, where he furthered his studies and ultimately earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

On February 10, 1990, Doug was united in marriage to Patty Eileen Johnson in rural Woodburn, Iowa. Soon after, they were blessed with two children, Stephanie and Tyler. He was never more proud than when he became a father. Doug and Patty’s union was a testament to enduring love and companionship.

Throughout his career, Doug demonstrated dedication and expertise in his field. Most recently, he was employed with Dish Network, where he worked for several years. He also ran a small business with his wife until they retired. Prior to that, he contributed his skills to Paul Mueller in Osceola.

He had a knack for building and fixing things, including computers, guns, and anything in between. Gardening and canning were a big part of his life for many years. It was something Doug and Patty enjoyed doing together. His family meant everything to him. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with them.
