Justin Ewoldsen

Justin Adam Gray Ewoldsen, son of Craig Allen Ewoldsen and Linda Joyce Gray Ewoldsen was born February 1, 1980 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, May 27, 2023 at his home in Norwalk, Iowa at 43 years of age.

Justin received his education in Osceola, Iowa, graduating from Clarke Community High School with the class of 1998.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Stempowski on August 14, 1999 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola, Iowa and one son, Christopher Michael, blessed this union. Justin was later united in marriage to Melissa Leary on August 1, 2008 in Ankeny, Iowa and two children, Hayden James and Grace Evelyn blessed this union.

Justin worked as a mortgage underwriter for many years and was most recently with Interfirst Mortgage. He was also very involved with the Indianola Little League, first serving a coach and continuing his commitment to the organization serving as President and currently the District Admin. He was also involved in the Iowa Special Olympics and served his community as a youth leader at his church providing spiritual guidance.

Justin was a huge sports fan and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago Bears the Boston Celtics. Justin especially liked The Beatles and enjoyed writing and cooking. He loved coaching baseball and basketball and was a very family oriented man known for his smile, laughter and hardworking attitude.

Those relatives who preceded Justin in death were his grandfather, Lester Forrest Gray, grandmother, Vera Evelyn Gray, grandfather, Dwight Ewoldsen, nephew, Joshua Perry Klages and his best friend, Ryan Wade Phillips.

Justin leaves to cherish his memory; children, Christopher Ewoldsen, Hayden Ewoldsen and Grace Ewoldsen all of Indianola, IA, parents, Craig and Linda Ewoldsen of Osceola, IA; grandmother, Wanda Ewoldsen of Osceola, IA; sisters, Lori (Steve) Mundy of Osceola, IA and Heather (Randy) White of Osceola, IA; niece, Keatyn (Chisolm) Brant of Leon, IA and nephew, Jedidiah White of Osceola, IA, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Tuesday June 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jon Duey officiating.The Family requested that you wear your Hawkeye gear to visitation and the service. The family greeted friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, June 5, 2023 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
