Shephen Jones

Stephen Roy Jones, son of Harold R. Jones and Lola Luella (Stiles) Jones was born March 31, 1952 in Osceola, IA. He passed from this life December 16, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA at the age of 69.

Steve graduated from Interstate 35 High School in 1970. He was united in marriage to Cynthia (Cindy) Powell on June 22, 1974 in Osceola. This year they celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Steve worked for several auto dealerships in Des Moines. Later he started his own home improvement business. He was proud of the many projects he designed and completed for people. He also worked at a golf course before retiring.

Through the years Steve restored many Mustangs. He was very talented and inventive and could repair or create anything. He most enjoyed being outdoors fishing. The couple made many Canadian fishing trips through the years. Cindy was there beside Steve for many fishing adventures both locally and in Canada. Steve was also known for his gardening skills, mainly tomatoes and potatoes. He loved animals especially the cats the couple had – Ruggy and Little Guy. Sammy and George came along later and adopted the couple.

Those relatives who preceded Steve in death were his parents, and sister, Rhonda Luckett.

He leaves to cherish his memory; wife Cindy Jones of Indianola, IA; brother Randy (Kathy) Jones of New Virginia, IA as well as many friends.

No funeral services are planned. No memorial contributions or flowers are requested.
