Central Decatur placed eight players on all-district teams for Class 1A District 7 Monday.

First team

Teagan Carson was a unanimous selection for the first-team offensive line.

He helped Central Decatur pass for over 1,200 yards and rush for over 750 yards. The Cardinals’ offense averaged 14 points per game in 2020.

Haden Leymaster was a first-team wide receiver selection. Leymaster caught 27 passes for second in the conference with 389 yards, fourth in the conference, and two touchdowns, tied for fourth in the conference.

Colton Barnes was a unanimous selection for the Cardinals’ defensive line. He recorded 20 1/2 tackles, 15 solo, and 4 1/2 tackles for loss on the season.

Tyke Hullinger’s selection on the first team came as a defensive back.

Hullinger recorded 38 1/2 tackles, first on the team. Of his 38 1/2 tackles, 30 were solo, most on the team. Hullinger also had 1 1/2 tackles for loss. He also had three interceptions, enough for second in the district.

Second team

Matthew Boothe was third Cardinals’ third unanimous selection, coming in the defensive backfield.

Boothe had 20 tackles, with 16 solo, while splitting time as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback. He also had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, tying for second in the district.

Trey Hullinger was selected as a wide receiver. As a junior receiver, he caught 12 pases for 298 yards, second most on the team, and scored one touchdown.

Honorable
mention

Devin Adams was an honorable mention for the Cardinals, doing the bulk of the work from the backfield.

Adams led the team with 75 carries for 401 yards and four tochdowns. Defensively, he had 29 1/2 tackles. He had 15 solo tackles and one tackle for a loss.

TJ Fallis was also part of the honorable mention group for Central Decatur.

Fallis fnished with 27 1/2 tackles, with 16 solo, and 3 1/2 tackels for a loss. His two fumble recoveries were tied for third in the district.
