Area football roundup: Central Decatur gets blowout win, Murray postpones game

Central Decatur 50, North Mahaska 12

NEW SHARON – Central Decatur won 50-12 Friday night, picking up a big win over North Mahaska.

The Cardinals were led by Matthew Boothe, passing for 312 yards with three passing touchdowns.

Devin Adams was the leading rusher for CD, rushing for 94 yards on 14 attempts. He scored four times.

Haden Leymaster reeled in nine catches for 183 yards, scoring twice, including a 66-yard score.

The Cardinals’ receiving core also had a score from Michel Evertsen, catching five balls for 22 yards with an 11-yard TD.

Adams and Leymaster picked off two passes and Tegan Carson had two tackles for a loss.

Brogan Bundt and Tate Hill each had a sack in the win.

Woodward-Granger 18, Interstate 35 7

TRURO – Interstate 35 lost to Woodward-Granger Friday night, losing 18-7.

Murray vs. Seymour postponed

Murray’s matchup against Seymour Friday night has been postponed with undetermined makeup date.

After starting warm up, a tornado warning put the game on hold as both Murray and Seymour attempted to wait out the storm, and after doing so, were placed in a lightning delay. The Mustangs never saw the field as the game was called due to the severe weather.
