Marjorie Lamb

Marjorie May Lamb, daughter of Clark D. and Bessie B. (Jackson) Lamb, departed her earthly life at 70 years and 2 months on April 14, 2019, at her home in Osceola with her sister and nephew, Duffy Cannon, in attendance. Marjorie succumbed to an unidentified infection that invaded her bloodstream.

Marjorie, well known in Clarke County for her big and generous heart was born at Dr. H.E. Stroy’s Osceola Hospital, 210 S. Fillmore St., in Osceola on Feb. 14, 1949.

Marjorie grew up in Clarke County where she first attended country school Doyle No. 7 through fourth grade, and then attended Murray Community School in fifth and sixth grades. In 1961, her parents moved to Osceola, and Marjorie graduated from Clarke Community School in 1967.

For many years, Marjorie was employed by SCICAP at the Clarke County Community Center, where she assisted with food bank, toys at Christmas for local children, fuel assistance program and other community services.

Marjorie loved to cook and could often be found lending a hand in the kitchen of the Lunch Box Cafe, owned and operated by her dear friends, Madeline and Bill Potts. She also spent many Saturday nights in the kitchen of the Osceola Eagles Club.

Marjorie is survived by her aunt Maxine Lamb McConnell; a sister Mary Apodaca; one son Ryan Carson; grandsons, Colton and Mason Carson; a step-grandson Nick Wilson; a niece; three nephews; many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; 18 cousins and two especially close and treasured friends, Wendy Stickler and Alan Duvall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven uncles, six aunts and three cousins.

In remembrance of Marjorie, a potluck picnic is planned 1 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Hopeville shelter. Later in the afternoon, there will be an interment of cremains in Hopeville Cemetery. Flowers for the site will be welcomed or donations toward a marker for Marjorie would be appreciated. Monetary donations may be given to Ritha Wolfe or Selena Humphrey.
