Latino Festival continues to be a crowd pleaser

Happy hooves, happy feet, happy hearts: Organizers went out of their way to get more people involved at this year’s Latino Festival. While it’s typically Osceola Chamber Main Street’s most popular event held each year, OCMS Executive Director Derek Lumsden said people aren’t always sure what to expect. Hosted at the Clarke County Fairgrounds, the celebration embraces the cultural styles and influences of Latin American countries. While food is at the heart of many festivals, one of the most popular aspects of the Latino Festival are the dancers and other performers that travel to Osceola. At this year’s event, organizers added more hands on activities, with help from volunteers from Clarke County Hospital, among other groups.
