Rosalie Palmer, 83, of Van Wert died April 26, 2015, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, after a long struggle with kidney failure and dialysis.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon. Elder Russell McDaniel officiated. Burial was in Van Wert Cemetery.
Rosalie LuElla Palmer, daughter of Ruby Edith (Fry) and Georga Marion Cox, was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Bloomington Township of Decatur County.
Rosalie attended Round Knoll Country School near Van Wert and then Van Wert High School.
On Dec. 26, 1948, Rosalie married Lawrence David Palmer near Van Wert.
Rosalie was a homemaker. She also helped Lawrence on the farm. She became a certified medical aide and worked at Westview, Decatur County Hospital and Clarke County Hospital.
Rosalie was a member of Van Wert Assembly of God Church.
Rosalie is survived by her husband Lawrence Palmer of Van Wert; son Danny (wife Martha) Palmer of Van Wert; grandchildren, Lacey Palmer Whitaker and Chris Van Winkle, Shawn and Cindy Palmer, Jason and Jo Palmer, Justin and Lauren Palmer and Stacey Palmer and fiancé Justin Davis; great-grandchildren, Shayn, Madisyn, Jesse, Jarrett, Haylee, Julia, Cayden, Kennedy and one expected in June; siblings, Randall (wife Darlene) Cox of Osceola, Corwin Cox of Grand River and Kay (husband Dennis) Fierce of Van Wert; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; son Dennis in 1975; brothers, Russell Cox and wife Barb and Donnie Cox; and sister-in-law Merna Cox.
